Little Green Radicals

When you choose to buy Little Green Radicals you can expect clothing that is made from gorgeously soft organic cotton that also carries the fairtrade mark. As well as being ethically manufactured using organic materials a trademark of their clothes are the fun eco friendly slogans printed on their colourful t shirts , playsuits, baby grows , bibs and hoodies ( which we are pleased to stock a selection of ). Our favourite slogan has got to be ‘I recycle my tantrums’ – one that I am sure most parents can relate to. Their slogans are guaranteed to raise a smile and attract the most attention from customers who visit the stalls I take them to.

Since they began in 2002 Little Green Radicals are always adding fabulous new products to their range and their most recent designs include the gorgeous polka dot dress and bandana bib shown below which we now have in stock

Here are a few of the fabulous comments from people who visited our stall at a village event I attended last Saturday:

” beautiful clothing at reasonable prices ” , ” unique clothing you don’t see anywhere else ” , perfect new baby gifts ” ,

” gorgeous dresses ” ,” lovely soft fabric “.

The most popular items were our little boat bodysuits, Rambling Rose Dress and Loop the loop shirt. Thanks to everyone who came along to support us.

Great day at the Summer Gathering

Another brilliant year at the West Bridgford Summer Gathering , a great turn out despite the threat of rain which thankfully held off all day. I was so pleased to get such lovely feedback about all the stock we took there. Our new Pebble toys were a real favourite and attracted a lot of attention as did our Little Green Radicals slogan t shirts especially the I Recycle my Tantrums one which every parent could relate to. Other favourites that are alway a big hit each year are our Piccalilly dresses they really are so beautiful.

All in all a great day, thanks to everyone who came along to support us x

The Story behind Pebble Toys

In 2004 a lady named Samantha Morshed moved to Bangladesh with her family.  It wasn’t long after her arrival that she felt morally she had  to use whatever skills she had to help in some way. She wanted to build sustainable and flexible employment for women in the rural areas of  Bangladesh so they wouldn’t  have to leave their families to travel long distances to find work. With a love of knitting and crochet she began to visit small communities regularly and teach the women there how to make children’s toys , the name given to this non profit making initiative was Hathay Bunano.  Samantha proved that it was possible to make good quality products at volume in rural areas. Their are now many women who participate in this venture in over 50 rural production centres across Bangladesh. In 2010 Hathay Bunano introduced their own brand – Pebble – the products they produce are unrivaled they are absolutely adorable and beautifully made.

Party Dresses.

If you are looking for beautifully designed and fairly traded dresses then Piccalilly ticks all of the above.  Alongside their organic cotton clothing collection they work closely with small family run businesses in Bali and India to produce fabulous fairly traded clothing. When I first started stocking Piccalilly clothes their dresses were one of the first things that caught my eye having a little girl myself I thought they were lovely and after I purchased them I wasn’t disappointed.

My daughter wore one of the first Piccalilly dresses ( see below)  and she absolutely loved it she wore it the sunshine and in the rain if it was cold she wore it with a long sleeved top underneath and tights.  She only took it off to have it washed and it always looked lovely.

Now sadly a little old for the Piccalilly dresses I still think the designs and quality are amazing you can now see my youngest daughter in the Rambling Rose one  (shown in the gallery above)
